Take a walk with Past Preservers through
the History of Argentina
NEW YORK
CITY and CAIRO—26th
November 2011—Past Preservers and Crimson Bamboo LLC announced
today the launch of their new tour Heart of Buenos Aires exploring the crucial events in Argetina’s
history that took place along the road from the Plaza de Mayo towards the Casa
Rosada state house.
British writer, photographer and picture editor Kate Stanworth uses all of her story telling skills
to bring alive the iconic processional route that runs through the center of
Buenos Aires. “While working as a journalist and photographer in the capital,”
said Kate Stanworth. “I became fascinated by the sheer amount of history
that lay along this short route that stretches out from the Plaza de Mayo. This
square is not only the site of revolutions, famous speeches and great acts of
resistance, but also the colony’s very birthplace. It was the point where
Spanish explorers set foot from their ships in the 16th Century.”
Michael Carroll, co-founder of Crimson Bamboo, the creator of the
Rama app, stated “starting at the Plaza de Mayo, the beating heart of Argentina’s
political life, the Heart of Buenos Aires carries you through nearly five centuries of Argentina’s history.”
Adding, “Kate Stanworth has done a fine job of mixing historical information with
observation and insight to produce one of our most engaging tours to date.”
Kate Stanworth has written for publications such as Time Out (in Buenos
Aires, Sao Paulo and London), Rangefinder
Magazine (US) and Raw Vision (UK), and has contributed her photos to many
publishers, magazines and NGOs. She has a Masters in Art History from Goldsmiths College
and is currently working as a freelancer, based in London.
Rama was voted one of the ten best new travel apps by BBC Travel in 2010 and will be available for Android
later this year.
Crimson Bamboo is a New
York City-based Limited Liability Company founded in March 2010 with the
mission of creating new convergences between people, data and the world.
